During Euro 2020 we will be hosting a number of live webinars to look at the technical and tactical approaches that teams adopt during the tournament, in collaboration with our partners Keyframe Sports.

Exclusively for MiMentor subscribers, the webinars will give you the chance to work with other coaches and our coach mentors, while utilising Keyframe Sports excellent match analysis software.

THE PLAN

Limited to just 36 MiMentor members, coaches will be split into groups and your challenge will be to pick a team and present the Principles of Play adopted by that team within their opening group stage fixture.

You will be asked to present your findings in the final webinar session. You should include the attacking and defending principles of play, and also what your chosen team does in transition.

All fixtures will be uploaded to the Keyframe Sports software for you to analyse, and you will be able to download your footage and take screenshots to support your presentation.

THE SCHEDULE

24th JUNE: In the opening introductory webinar, our Coach Development mentor and UEFA A coach Jamie Godbold will discuss the Principles of Play and you will analyse the Euro 2020 Group B game between Belgium and Russia using the Keyframe Sports software. You will then be divided into groups to work on your presentation, focusing on a chosen team at the tournament.

2nd JULY: The second webinar session will focus on the tactical trends that have been adopted during the Euro 2020 so far, and the comparisons with previous tournament trends will be analysed and explored.

9th JULY: In the final webinar, the groups will present their Principles of Play findings. Each group will have ten minutes to summarise their findings, including short videos using the Keyframe Sports software to show examples.

Each group must include footage of their team’s attacking principles, defending principles and transitions. What worked and why, and also what the other team did to counter these.

THE BENEFITS

  • Improve your game understanding
  • Develop your match analysis knowledge and skills
  • Network opportunities through peer-to-peer collaborations

THE PRIZE

At the end of the tournament, the coach who predicted the overall winner of the Euro 2020 tournament in the first webinar session, will win a year’s access to Keyframe Sports analysis software, and a 1-2-1 mentor session with Jamie Godbold.
